I remember seeing this one in a movie house when I was a kid. It is a great story of friends, love and the U.S. Civil War. Barbara Peyton gives a good performance in this movie. The color tends of be a bit pale and quite dark at times. It looked a lot better on the big screen in the movie house. Considering the age of the movie and that color still quite new when this movie was made, the film quality is understandable. The resolution is not high def by any means but I found it quite viewable when I transferred the .avi file to DVD. I enjoyed seeing Guy Madison in this movie. He played Wild Bill Hickok on TV. The story is good. You really got the feeling that you were looking at a little bit of the US Civil war. The costumes were good and looked authentic. The story is fiction but you got the feeling that this was something that really could have happened. I didn't really notice anyone in the movie speaking with a southern US accent. That would have added to the authenticity but it would have been hard on the audiences who were mostly in the north. Understanding a speaker with a southern US accent can be quite difficult at times. If you like civil war stories this is well worth the download.
