(1946) A mobster movie with a twist. Eddie is an uneducated but successful No1 racketeer who has just served time. He is met at the prison gates by Smiley, his childhood pal and No2 in the organisation, who has been quite happy at being No1, so bumps Eddie off using Eddie's own 'rod'. Eddie being a bit of a sinner, ends up in Hell, which he doesn't like much and wants out so he can get Smiley. The trouble he causes gets the attention of the Devil who spots that Eddie is the exact double of an uncorruptable mortal nemesis Judge Frederick Parker who has been stopping too many people doing dasdardly deeds. The Devil (without revealing his obvious identity) strikes a bargain with Eddie that if he gets him back to the world of mortals, he can act out his vengeance on Smiley as long as he does some work for him in the body of Judge Parker. However, to our amusement, not much goes the Devil's way. It's amazing that an entertaining movie like this can remain dormant for so long because it certainly doesn't get broadcast on TV much, if at all. This movie proves that not all 60+ year old movies are dull. Video 8 / Sound 8.

The quality of file isn't the best I've ever seen, but I love this film so many thanks for the upload.
