This is one of those "so bad it's good" movies, you know, like an Ed Wood movie? Well eat your heart out Ed Wood, and step aside, this is the most wonderfully overacted movie I've ever seen. So how do I rate it? A 1 for the worst movie I've ever seen, or a 5 for it being the best bad movie I've ever seen? I pick the latter because I enjoyed it so much. So grab this movie, and amaze and disturb your friends. Of course you may lose some friends that way, but they aren't your really your friends if they can't become demented along with you as you take in this wonderfully terrible film. This flick will attempt to educate you about mental illness, and mental illness is so much better when it's shared. In the 60s we used to say, "can you pass the electric koolaid acid test?", and now I say to you, can you pass the electic Maniac movie test? Go on I dare ya!

Wow! This is probably the most entertaining sleaze from the '30s I've ever seen. This was an adults-only that gave the Hays Code the finger in a BIG way. How do you even explain this gem? An ex-vaudevillian works with the HAMMIEST mad scientist ever. They snatch bodies and attempt to re-animate them. The doc is killed so the unhinged vaudevillian, a master of disguise, assumes his identity. The script borrows from Poe's "The Black Cat" & "Murders in the Rue Morgue." There's a girl fight with syringes, a gouged out cat's eye that's eaten, a rapist that believes he's an orangutan, and some female nudity! Helpful medical descriptions of psychoses appear at odd times on the screen and the director shows psychotic states by superimposing satanic images from "Witchcraft Through the Ages" and "Siegfried." Clocking in at just under 52 minutes, this is the highly entertaining way to burn an hour. RECOMMENDED!

This is one incredible film. Made in 1934 it has the most insane mad doctor ever seen in any movie. In fact the whole movie is insane. A mad doctor trying to bring the dead back to life breaks down and weeps when his assistant fails to bring a corpse back to the lab. A crazy guy rapes a zombie. A cat gets strangled and has its eye plucked out. A bevy of 1930's beauties parade around a hotel room in their sexy underwear. A couple of women get into a fight in the basement while the crazy doctor cackles with glee. Sex and violence in movies today can't compare to the content in this movie. The mad doctor is great,as he runs about shouting and ranting. This is one that you shouldn't miss , it is so weird .
