A classic example of German drama from the seventies. A gang of misfits and outcasts plan the perfect bank robbery with a view to escaping their dead-end lives with the proceeds. Much planning takes place under the command of the increasingly psychotic Heinz. Also involved is his italian friend Luigi, Luigi's newly pregnant lover Heidi and her brother Christian who has recently deserted from the army. The build-up to the robbery includes a jail break and the theft of various machine guns from the American army before the actual bank job. Needless to say, this being the perfect crime, the robbery quickly goes wrong and the customers of the bank are taken hostage and a policeman is killed by a stray grenade. Somewhat unusually for a bank heist drama, the hostages and robbers do manage to escape the bank with their booty, but things continue to go wrong for them. This film is certainly not a stunner, but enjoyable nonetheless. Violence abounds and is at times extremely brutal. There is also a very strange sex scene towards the end of the film which some viewers will find extremely distasteful as it shows the viewpoint of both "lovers"; one sees their partner as a person, the other as a piece of meat. This film is certainly worth a view, but you wouldn't go out and buy it! This is definitely an R/18 rated movie.

Bloody Friday {Blutiger Freitag}(1972) An accurate review by Ravening Wolf is hard to add too. Just to say that I did not find the English dubbing distracting me from the story, which was engaging. For fans of VW Beetle's it is worth adding to your collection [watch @00:05:56 in a non-action scene how their Beetle struggles to stay in a straight line on snow/ice]. There were a couple of times that felt the editing was too soon. Video 8 / Sound 9. This this the sort of film that with a few famous faces and some padding & tightening of the script could be turned into a major picture in the same way that L.A. Takedown became Heat. Recommended.

In the same way that L.A. Takedown became Heat, this is the kind of movie that, with a few prominent actors and some writing padding & tightening, might become a blockbuster motion picture. Recommended. apple worm

For an accurate identification or wordle recommendation, I would suggest looking into works by directors like Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who often depicted the lives of outcasts and the impact of societal pressures in his films during the 1970s.

An exemplary instance of German play from the 1970s. A group of misfits and outcasts dordle orchestrates an ideal bank heist to extricate themselves from their unfulfilling existence using the stolen funds. A considerable amount of planning occurs under the authority of the increasingly deranged Heinz.
