People are funny. People are entertaining. Unfortunately few of these kind of people are in this movie. I had hopes that this movie would be somewhat good, since the cast includes Rudy Vallee,Jack Haley,Ozzie Nelson,Frances Langford and Art Linkletter, who were all A list people in their day. The film starts out with a radio network executive canceling a producers show because it made fun of lawyers and was demeaning to the law profession. He orders the producer to create a new show or else. Frances Langford commits the first illegal download by stealing the transcription of People are Funny from a small town radio station. Other than appearing in a one piece bathing suit in one scene, she really has nothing to do in this movie. The rest of the cast gives a really unimpressive performance except for Jack Haley who manages to bring some excitement to the screen. The movie completely tanks when the musical group The Vagabonds make their entrance. This vile untalented group appear throughout the movie for some reason and manage to offend the viewer throughout the picture. The People are Funny show finally hits the network airwaves hosted by Art Linkletter who does a bad acting job portraying himself. They do a bit which is offensive to Native Americans and have contestants perform demeaning stunts. Finally to wrap it all up are The Vagabonds, who do a bad musical number in drag. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys pain like Jack Nicholson did in The Little Shop of Horrors. The video and audio quality of the download is very good.
