A lawyer arrives in a small town to sell off the local "haunted" house which has stood empty for thirty years on behalf of it's reclusive owner (bizarrely on Christmas Eve). The arrival of said lawyer raises a few local eyebrows but the house sale appears a dead certainty - until the bodies begin to pile up of course... This is a horror film with potential and a little atmosphere that keeps the viewer guessing for most of it's length. Sadly they are simply guessing as to what on earth is taking place. Silent Night, Bloody Night is not a bad film, it is atmospheric and shows some distinct signs of suspense. The film shies away from graphic bloodshed and there is no nudity, the director has instead chosen to provide enough clues to help the viewer's imagination fill in the blanks. The soundtrack is also ok, mainly a strange take on "Silent Night" the popular Christmas carol. Sadly the final denouement does not match up to the film's earlier promises and is quite a let down. C+

I like this movie but is a very strange movie. With some very good photographed scenes, it is really a B-Cult Movie Classic. Not for everybody taste, however.
