The naive farm boy has to deal with teasing and remarks by a barracks full of city boys.  There are some good characters in the story and the film quality is pretty decent.  I remember seeing this movie in the 1960' in my university residence common room.   It held the attention of myself and my fellow scholars until the last scene that featured the 82nd Airborne Division song.  Being Canadian we could not relate to the song's lyric "We are all American...etc." 

The entire moving takes place in one training cycle during peacetime in the 1950's in the southern USA.  There are some good scenes of paratroop training jumps.
