Behind Green Lights is a nice little mystery. A couple of little plot twists and some nicely interesting characters, along with corruption, chase scenes and romance make this movie very entertaining. The picture and sound quality are fine too.

(1946) An above average crime thriller with a complex intertwined plot that is not too difficult to follow. When the deceased private eye / blackmailer Walter Bard ends up coasting to the foot of a police station in his car, an investigation by the stations Lieutenant Sam Carson begins. The prime suspect is mayoral candidate's daughter Janet Bradley (the very glamorous Carole Landis), but could it be Bard's estranged wife or her lover?
There is one odd edit near the beginning that seemed to have missing frames, but this scene is shown later and again with missing but different frames. Perhaps this was 1940's B-movie budget splicing? Video 8 / sound 9.
I had to look up to see whatever happened to Carole Landis, who appeared to be attractive and talented enough for a decent movie career and was sad to discover on her IMDB Bio, that at the age of 29 she commited suicide.
